From this angle, the organic analogy dissolves. The rounded module panels — seen face-on in a low, raking light — lose their scale-like quality and read instead as an array: oval forms all oriented to the same point, their surfaces catching the Seville sun with the precision of instruments rather than the accident of nature. The structural hardware is fully legible here — conduit running along the ribs, fixings holding each module to the frame — the engineering infrastructure that the building's biological silhouette usually keeps from view. Above the diagonal edge of the canopy, the deep blue sky takes up more than half the frame, open and uninterrupted. From this angle, the Metropol Parasol stops looking like it grew there. It looks like it landed.
