Xaveer De Geyter Architects designed the Provinciehuis as a civic landmark for Antwerp's provincial government, wrapping a large-volume administrative block in a facade patterned with triangular apertures — a move that transforms what could have been an anonymous institutional slab into something closer to a geometric textile. The triangle is doing real work here: repeated across the white cladding in a grid of downward-pointing blue forms, it dissolves the wall's flatness and creates a surface that shifts with the light, somewhere between ornament and structure. Here, shot from below and at an angle, the building's sharp corner bisects the frame diagonally, the bright white front face giving way abruptly to the dark charcoal flank — the same triangular motif continuing around the edge, compressed into near-shadow. The sky and the panels are almost the same blue, which is either a coincidence or the whole point.
