Muralla Roja was conceived as a total environment — not just housing, but a complete world contained within its walls. The rooftop pool is central to that ambition: a place of arrival within the labyrinth, the reward at the end of the passage system, a surface of water set against the building's burning walls and the Costa Blanca sky. Shot from above, the pool's tiled grid anchors the lower right corner of an otherwise freely-angled composition: a rose pink terrace above, a diagonal band of deep navy cutting across the middle, a large powder blue wall catching the light at a different angle, the dark burgundy of an adjacent section holding the upper right. Multiple levels, multiple colors, multiple planes — all resolved by the one element that needed to be still. The pool holds everything together.
