The Mirador's sky plaza does something unexpected to its surrounding facades: it turns them into shadow-catchers, surfaces that register the movement of the Madrid sun as precisely as a sundial. Here the overhang of the upper block casts a hard-edged geometric shadow across the orange render below, a near-black pentagon that divides the wall into lit and unlit with the kind of clarity only a southern sky can produce. To the right, the perforated metal screen of the orange neighborhood catches the same light through its circular punches, filtering it into a warm glow. At the bottom, a vertical slat rail — the same orange — adds a third reading of the material, flat render giving way to mesh giving way to bar. The building in a single frame: one color, three textures, and the sun doing its work.
