The circle appears repeatedly in Miami Beach's Art Deco facades — porthole windows, circular medallions, disc-shaped ornaments — borrowed from the machine age design vocabulary that ran through Art Deco's international variants. Here, a salmon disc sits on a white wall above an eyebrow shade whose curved lower edge echoes the circle above it, the building repeating its own geometry across the facade. On the adjacent building, a mint green fluted pilaster runs between rows of salmon block accents — the complementary relationship between the two buildings so precise it could have been coordinated. In the Miami Beach restoration of the 1980s, designer Leonard Horowitz's pastel palette was applied across the district specifically to create this kind of chromatic coherence between neighboring buildings. The colors were never random. They were a design system.
