Distance turns an arch into pattern. Up close, it becomes something else: a volume, a depth, a space the building carves out of itself and offers to the air. These two arches, shot from below and close, reveal that dimension fully — their rounded profiles catching the terracotta in full sun on the outer faces, the interiors receding into deep brown shadow, the floor of the arcade just visible below. The Moroccan sky holds the left portion of the frame, flat and blue, indifferent to the geometry in front of it. A partial arch begins again in the lower portion, the same argument starting over. The building repeats its single move as many times as it takes: that the curve, the shadow, and the wall together make a thing worth looking at — from a distance and from here.
