Souto de Moura conceived the Casa das Histórias as a building that earns its place in Cascais quietly — no glass curtain walls, no spectacle of engineering, just terracotta-red cones that rhyme with the older structures around them. Seen together in a single frame, the two towers stop being architecture and start being a conversation: two forms in dialogue, the space between them as considered as the forms themselves. It is a building that knows when to stop.
