Eduardo Souto de Moura designed the Casa das Histórias Paula Rego as a building with memory — its conical towers drawn from the ochre-red of Portuguese vernacular architecture, its geometry old before it was new. Shot from below and close, the pyramid sheds its cultural context entirely. What remains is pure form: a steep terracotta plane against Atlantic sky, a shape so elemental it could belong to any century.
