One of Le Corbusier's Five Points of Architecture was the "free facade" — and the principle was radical: because the structural load is carried by the pilotis, the exterior wall carries nothing. It doesn't need to hold the building up. It only needs to say something. At Corbusierhaus Berlin, that freedom is made visible in every panel. The facade isn't expressing structure — it's expressing color, proportion, the idea of a building rather than its practical reality. Architecture relieved of its obligations, given only one instruction: be as clear as possible about what you believe.
