The frame holds almost nothing: one concrete balcony slab, its rough aggregate surface occupying the center, a precise diagonal shadow carving the lower half into darkness, and a vast field of deep blue sky. A thread of teal railing catches the light at the upper corner — the only color in an otherwise monochromatic composition, present just long enough to establish scale before stepping aside. Shot this close and this spare, the balcony stops being an architectural element and becomes an object in space: textured, heavy, and suspended — more sculpture than building.
